I am delighted to introduce you to Tom Jordan, an experienced osteopath who trained with me at University College of Osteopathy (formerly British School of Osteopathy). He will be covering for me from 7th-14th August 2019. Tom comes highly recommended by me as both a skilled practitioner and an all round good guy. If you are an existing or new patient, rest assured you will be in excellent hands, and together we will ensure you receive seamless continuity of care. However if that’s not enough, here is a little more information about him…
Tom’s interest in the human body and how it works started with a fascination with biology at school, and more recently developed through his passion for Japanese martial arts and bodywork. He’s been a massage therapist since 2005, with clients including the Financial Times and PWC, and an Osteopath since gaining his Master of Osteopathy degree in 2012. He has practiced in Barbados, Edinburgh, London (and now Warwick!).
His earlier career was in book publishing, and his first steps towards becoming an osteopath probably involved getting rather restless sitting at a desk, doing a bit of stretching, and eventually getting the whole editorial team involved in group stretching sessions. Tom uses a wide range of skills and options to suit you as a patient. He gets good results, and his patients often refer family and friends.
Tom is friendly, warm and caring. What matters to him is helping you to understand your problem. He will be honest with you about how far he can help, what other help may be available to you, and what you can do yourself.
When Tom’s patients took part in a survey asking them how well they felt listened to, understood and cared for, his average score across all categories was 4.7 out of 5 (or “excellent”) The survey highlighted Tom’s strengths as:
- Making you feel at ease,
- Letting you tell your story and being interested in you as a whole person
- Really listening and fully understanding your concerns
- Showing care and compassion
- Explaining things clearly
- Helping you to take control and making a plan of action with you
Outside of work, Tom is a keen cricketer and cook, and practices meditation.
Please note: Tom does not treat babies or children so there will be no pediatric appointments between 7th-14th August 2019. Apologies for any inconvenience.
